Developing our 2022 research agenda together with young people
Consulting with youth to ensure our 2022 research and evaluations agenda serves the children and young people we work with and for.
To achieve our goal of transforming the lives of 100 million girls we are embracing experimentation and risk to develop innovative and bold new approaches, products and services.
Innovation at Plan International is driven by girls’ needs. We aim to create impact for girls at scale through gaining a deep understanding of girls’ needs and the issues that matter to them. Our projects are co-designed together with the people closest to the problem so that they can influence their own futures.
Our innovation strategy is driven by the girls it serves, supported by our internal capacity and fuelled by our partners. We challenge assumptions and pivot based on learnings, rather than conducting business-as-usual.
We have made recent investments in our internal innovation capacity, including:
We have a portfolio of 26 innovation projects focusing on areas such as programming, influencing, fundraising and operations. Since launching the innovation fund in January 2018, we have received over 100 applications from colleagues around the world and there is a growing ‘innovation network’ of over 1,600 colleagues globally
At Plan International, we recognise we can’t do innovation alone and need to partner for impact. We work with external partners to help us deliver and scale innovation.
