Chapters cover definitions and concepts of children’s participation, including relevant articles from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC); why children’s participation is important; when to introduce it, including useful checklists on justice, health, education, community services and information, as well as key entry points; how public leaders, such as legislators, administrators and the media, can play a role in promoting and improving it; how to make children’s participation effective, with case studies from India and Brazil; and where to find other useful resources online.
