Overview

Act to Adapt: The Next Generation Leads the Way! Child-Centred Climate Change Adaptation (4CA)

Children’s rights are at the centre of Plan International's climate change adaptation work. This includes work on adaptation to climate change for children whilst ensuring their active participation in the design and implementation of climate change adaptation projects.

This report reviews Plan International's Child-Centred Climate Change Adaptation (4CA) programme, a 3 year project which took place from 2011-2014. The project aimed to build the awareness of children and their communities to the effects of climate change and to empower them to be active participants in adaptation to climate change.

This involved the translation of relatively new and complex climate science concepts into real life practice using the tools, techniques and knowledge of local communities.
