The impact of Because I am a Girl programmes has demonstrated the importance of using research and evidence to create transformative change. The success of our multi-country initiatives demonstrates the powerful influence of evidence-based programme models and tools that can be scaled up across countries and regions. As a result, we can reach even more girls and transform communities in more meaningful ways.

State of the World's Girls

The annual State of the World’s Girls report shows how we use our experience and research to shape programmes and our advocacy strategy. The series of reports ran from 2007 to 2015 with the objective of marking progress and analysing the barriers that stand in the way of gender equality. The reports include recommendations for action, showing policymakers and planners what can make a difference to girls’ lives all over the world. The reports engage with external partners, academics, NGOs, donors and UN Agencies and have helped establish Plan International as a leader in the world of girls’ rights.
