UNIQLO supports Plan International through PEACE FOR ALL charity t-shirt project

17 June 2022

Global apparel retailer UNIQLO today announces the launch of PEACE FOR ALL, a range of t-shirts with designs conveying peace in support of humanitarian efforts worldwide.

At least 20% of the sales price of each shirt will be donated to organisations that provide humanitarian assistance to those affected by violence, discrimination, conflict and natural disasters – including Plan International.

The designs have been created in collaboration with high-profile names in the fields of art, design, science, sports and literature, including novelist Haruki Murakami.

“In May this year, UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, announced that the number of forcibly displaced people worldwide now exceeds 100 million. For people who have been forced to flee their homes, support such as clothing, water, food, medicine, and a safe place to sleep, are vital,” said Tadashi Yanai, Fast Retailing (UNIQLO parent company) Chairman, President & CEO.

“Over the years we have engaged in a number of initiatives to assist those forcibly displaced, thanks to the support and cooperation of our customers.”

Colin Rogers, Plan International’s Deputy Director for Ukraine Crisis Response, said:

“At Plan International, we believe that children and young people have the power to drive the movement for peace. Young people must have the opportunity to lead change with their own communities.

“Across the world girls suffer injustices every day simply because they are young and female. Peace for All will make a valuable contribution to our girls’ empowerment work in countries across Asia. We hope to use the donations from Peace for All to provide educational opportunities, vocational training and awareness-raising and other activities that empower girls so they can make their own decisions and pave the way for a more peaceful future.”

UNIQLO parent company, Fast Retailing Co., Ltd., will donate all profits from the PEACE FOR ALL range (no less than 20% of the selling price) equally among UNHCR, Save the Children and Plan International.

The five new PEACE FOR ALL t-shirt designs are being unveiled worldwide today.
