This annual review is a summary of our global impact for children, particularly girls, in 2024.
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We strive for a just world, working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners.
We are launching a search process to fill upcoming vacancies on our International Board. This is a senior unpaid non-executive role which is both demanding and rewarding and where you will be able to create a lasting impact for children and young people around the world!

Please note that this role requires a significant time commitment of approximately 15-18 hours per month, including participation in online and in person meetings.

As a member of the International Board of Plan International, Inc. (PII) you will work alongside your fellow Board members to ensure that PII fulfils its Purpose of striving for a just world that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.
Over your 3-year term, you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to PII’s current work and future direction. This will include attending and engaging actively in Board and committee meetings, using your skills, knowledge and experience to help the Board reach sound decisions. The International Board needs people who can help them bridge differences and constructively challenge thinking to bring new ideas and perspectives.
Our By-laws and Election Procedures require that the International Board is gender balanced and has representation of geographical, ethnic, cultural and age diversity. Geographic diversity means that there is representation of all regions where we work (Asia, Africa, and Latin America).
Given the current composition of our Board, we are looking for a Board member from from Latin America for this particular vacancy.
You would serve for an initial term of 3 years starting in December 2025. You might also be re-elected for up to 2 further 3-year terms.
You cannot be a member of staff of PII or any of its member National Organisations.
The position is unpaid but all reasonable expenses will be paid by PII, in compliance with its Governor Travel Policy.
