For our #UniteForPeace campaign, we’re standing in solidarity with girls living in conflict around the world.
It is only by uniting for peace that we can truly bring an end to the devastating impact of conflict. Until then, we call for immediate action to support girls, boys and all civilians facing the dangers of conflict every day.
Millions of young people are displaced by conflicts and crises every year
We’re standing in solidarity with young refugees and calling for:
- Safe and equal access to services and opportunities for girls and young women living in refugee camps and host communities. This includes equipping all young people with the tools to challenge harmful gender norms.
- Investment in programmes and policies that prioritise protection, dignity, and inclusion for young refugees including access to documentation, education, healthcare, and freedom of movement.
- An end to negative stereotypes and discrimination of refugees and for the recognition of the valuable skills, aspirations, and contributions they bring to their communities.
- The meaningful inclusion of young refugees, especially girls and young women, in decision-making processes in their communities and beyond.
Power in our hands: Youth driving humanitarian change
In August 2025, youth activists came together as part of the #UniteForPeace campaign to craft a powerful open letter to world leaders, calling for the inclusion of young people in humanitarian response and decision-making. Their message is clear: young people must be recognised as key agents of change in building peace and responding to crises. We stand alongside them in this call for action.
