In Brazil, a woman is assaulted every 15 seconds and 1 is murdered every 2 hours. 

For 18 year old Larice, home is a dangerous community located close to a local prison in São Luís, North East Brazil. Violence and gangs are rife and robberies take place on a daily basis – home and school are the safest places for the teenager. 

Yet, every day, Larice puts her safety at risk so she can get an education. Here, she reveals how she dodges danger on her way to school.
