Plan’s work in Ecuador covers 4 key programme areas, all of which are rooted in the rights of the child:

Survival
This programme promotes the exercise of children’s and adolescents’ rights so that they can live in a safe, healthy, caring and stimulating environment.
Development
The development programme promotes the exercise of the right to development so that children and adolescents can have access to quality basic education with human warmth for their development, where they feel happy and loved, and can play, have fun, learn and be proactive in their own development.
Participation
A programme designed to contribute to the assurance and exercise of children’s and adolescents’ right to participation. It is designed to give the excluded parties a voice so that their priorities and proposals receive more attention.
Protection
Plan's fourth programme helps to to promote integrated protection for children’s and adolescents’ human rights, focusing on the violations of rights and paying particular attention to cases of abuse, labour and sexual exploitation, young people with disabilities and ethnic discrimination.
