Plan staff playing therapeutic games with children, Haiti

Children playing therapeutic games in a session run by Plan Haiti staff

The earthquake in Haiti on 12 January 2010 killed more than 200,000 people and left scores homeless.

As children and families poured into makeshift camps, Plan staff and volunteers supported more than 39,500 people with immediate needs, including shelter and food.

Our work has now evolved from emergency earthquake response to long-term recovery - focusing on education, health, child protection and livelihoods.

Plan staff are also working urgently to contain the cholera epidemic which threatens millions of people across the country.
