This ‘Voices of Inclusive and Quality Education’ book highlights Plan International Nepal’s extensive efforts to support quality education across various districts of Nepal over the past 45 years. In coordination with the Government of Nepal and in partnership with implementing partner organisations, Plan International Nepal has been working tirelessly to implement inclusive and quality education programmes that ensure no child is left behind.
Our commitment to inclusive education ensures that all children, including those with disabilities, are supported to learn, contribute, and participate in all aspects of school life without discrimination. This includes building accessible school environments, providing teacher training on inclusive practices, and advocating for policies that uphold every child’s right to education.
However, the reality remains stark: a significant proportion of children with disabilities are still out of school, and those who do attend often face considerable barriers to meaningful participation and learning. This book amplifies the voices of a wide range of stakeholders, including students, teachers, local authorities, and government officials, sharing their experiences and perspectives on the changes brought about by these efforts.
Consent was obtained from guardians and schools for interviews and photographs of students whose stories are included in this book. Additionally, representatives of all relevant stakeholders were informed about the purpose of this publication. Together, these stories serve as a testament to the transformative power of inclusive education and the ongoing journey towards ensuring that every child has access to quality education in Nepal.
