2.5 Million Reasons: Plan International Cambodia Country Strategy 2021-2026

Plan International Cambodia's country strategy from 2021 to 2026 aims to support 2.5 million girls and young women through 4 programmes.

In October 2021, Plan International Cambodia launched its fourth 5-year Country Strategy 2.5 Million Reasons 2021-2026.

Our ambition in the next 5 years is to reach 2.5 million girls and young women in Cambodia through 4 programmes:

  1. Healthy start – integrating nutrition, early childhood care and development and water, sanitation and hygiene to ensure children have a fair start in life and can make free and informed choices about their bodies
  2. Protection plus – addressing sexual exploitation, child marriage, discrimination of LGBTIQ+ young people and the risks faced by children left behind by migrating parents. We ensure children, especially girls and young women, are safe.
  3. Lifelong learning – focusing on inclusive, quality education, skill development and life skills including sexual and reproductive health knowledge to ensure children, especially girls, and young women, gain the knowledge, skills and confidence they need in order to realise their rights and reach their full potential
  4. Girls’ leadership – Empowerment and leadership, active citizenship and civic participation, ensuring girls and young women have the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed.

Climate change, resilience and environmental sustainability will become part of every project helping, protecting and engaging children to reduce disaster risks, build resilience and recover from disasters.
