Protection plus in Cambodia

Plan International Cambodia supports children and young people to live free from violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect. We provide and facilitate high-quality gender-and-age-responsive support working alongside the Royal Government of Cambodia, communities and families.

We strengthen the understanding and capacity of families to keep children safe and support adolescent girls and young women to influence change towards more equal and non-violent behaviour in their families and communities.

We work to end violence at all levels and focus on preventing harmful practices like child, early and forced marriage, gender-based violence and online violence and exploitation.

Our influencing work involves advocating to decision makers at all levels for the implementation of strong, gender-responsive legal and policy frameworks which protect children and young people, particularly girls and young women, from all types of violence.

We will also improve access to age-appropriate child protection services for children and youth, including LGBTIQ+ youth and children who experience or are exposed to violence.

Key targets

Our Protection Plus programme targets 60,000 children including adolescent girls and young women, LGBTIQ+ youth and survivors of child, early and forced marriage, online child sexual exploitation and abuse, and children left behind in cross-border programming engaging in the networks of 120 civil society organisations.
