Since 1978 Plan International has been working in Nepal—standing alongside marginalised children, families, and communities to ensure their rights to survive, be protected, and be heard.
Today, we’re active in 13 districts across the country, working hand in hand with local partners to build a just world—one where everyone is equal.
In a society still deeply rooted in patriarchy, girls and minority groups continue to face widespread discrimination and exclusion. Their voices are often silenced, and access to education, economic opportunities, and decision-making spaces remains out of reach.
We challenge the harmful norms and structures that hold them back addressing the root causes of inequality. Because we believe in a future where every child, especially every girl, can lead, decide and thrive.
We won’t stop until we are all equal.
Our commitment to transforming lives:
- Empowering every child, especially girls and children from marginalised communities, with the knowledge and tools to unlock their potential.
- Laying strong foundations through nurturing care, play, and learning from the very start.
- Supporting young people to raise their voices, challenge injustice, and lead movements for change in their communities.
- Standing against all forms of abuse, exploitation, and harmful practices—because every child deserves to feel safe and protected.
- Equipping young people with the skills, confidence, and resources to build sustainable livelihoods.
- Promoting agency, choice, and dignity by ensuring girls and young people have access to information and services they need.
- Empowering communities to prepare for, respond to, and bounce back stronger from disasters and crises.
