This report highlights the work that Plan International has been doing in Syria during 2024.
Throughout the past year, Plan continued with its strategic approach inside of Syria by supporting the most vulnerable and affected families through our implementing partners.
As of May 19, 2024, Plan received formal approval from the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to begin direct implementation of its activities in Syria.
In response, Plan initiated the establishment of its physical presence through office setup, recruitment of a Head of Mission, and team expansion. This move complements, rather than replaces, Plan’s partnership-based approach, enabling closer collaboration with Syrian CSOs and NGOs, and strengthening localisation, capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and direct implementation capabilities.
