Policy and Advocacy Assistant


Salomé joined the Plan International EU team as a Policy and Advocacy Assistant in March 2024.In her role, and as part of the influencing team, she monitors and assesses how EU policies can best support the rights of children and young people, with a focus on girls and young women.

Salomé is passionate about inclusive development and advocacy. Before joining the team, she completed her academic journey with a Master’s degree in African Studies, where she specialised in civil society organisations’ coalitions and the promotion of inclusive land governance in Kenya. Prior to that, Salomé completed a first Master’s degree in International Politics, focusing on the EU’s externalised migration policies in Libya. Her bachelor also focused on the EU’s externalised policies but zoomed in on the aspect of development aid in Chad. Salomé has varied interests but with the common themes of EU global policies, inclusive development and advocacy which help greatly contribute to the work of Plan International EU.

Salomé is originally from Belgium but has been living in many other countries. She is excited to be able to contribute to her vast interests while returning to her home country after many years, and potentially finally learning Dutch.
