Girl on the Frontline

10 JULY 2020

21 year old Raquel is a youth advocate from the Philippines. A member of her local youth council, she has volunteered to protect her community from COVID-19. She is also conducting a survey to find out how women and children are being affected by the COVID-19 measures and restrictions in her country.

“As a girl leader, I want to show fellow girls and young women that our capabilities are unlimited. We can help in small or big ways. Our gender identity is not a hindrance to help our country deal with COVID-19. Girls or boy, youth or adult – if you have the dedication, you can help.”
