Gaza: INGO humanitarian snapshot

15 July 2024

A document providing a snapshot of the obstacles that impede aid delivery in Gaza, with examples from NGOs on the ground.

Humanitarian non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating in Gaza have consistently reported that the systematic obstruction of aid by Israel and its ongoing attacks on aid operations, including aid facilities, personnel and distribution points have prevented the effective delivery of aid to people in need.

This document aims to provide a snapshot of the immense obstacles that impede aid delivery in Gaza, with concrete examples from NGOs on the ground. It offers a glimpse into the daily challenges faced by humanitarian workers, made worse by conflict, bombardment, gunfire and siege tactics. We aim to complement ongoing reporting from UN agencies and civil society groups to paint a picture of these harsh realities.

This snapshot is particularly relevant to EU decision-makers ahead of the upcoming Foreign Affairs Council on 22 July 2024, when, according to the official agenda, the Council will have a discussion on the situation in the Middle East.
