Martina joined Plan International EU in 2023 as the office’s European Union International Partnerships (INTPA) Manager. For the past ten years, she has been working at headquarter level for INGOs focused on programme management, regional coordination and funding for development projects and humanitarian crises, working closely with country teams from Africa, Asia and the Middle East, including ActionAid, Helpcode, Doctors with Africa Cuamm and Italian Cooperation (AICS).
Martina’s experience in the non-profit sector has been enriched through both campaigns (Amnesty International) and working in INGOs. Her previous roles include programme management, fundraising, donor engagement and compliance, with a particular focus on programme funding for development and humanitarian crises, working directly with local organisations. Martina is especially proud of the work she has done serving health programming for women and children affected by crisis and disaster.
Outside of work, Martina is an active board member of several grassroots organisations that promote women’s empowerment and social justice. She loves arts, trekking and hiking, which has led her to explore several countries in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Martina is fluent in Italian, English and Spanish, with advance knowledge of French.
