INTPA Partnership Manager
Martina joined Plan International EU in 2023 as the office’s European Union International Partnerships (INTPA) Manager. In her role, Martina is responsible for monitoring and providing analysis on EU development funding and for supporting Plan International in donor engagement and resource mobilisation.
Martina holds a master’s degree in Development Cooperation from Italy and MBA Essentials from LSE in UK, with a MA in Political Science and International Relations in Italy. Martina has spent most of her career working in the Global South, as Country Director in Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Haiti, Tunisia and Libya with international NGOs (INGOs) with interventions in Education, Health, Child protection and Wash.
For the past ten years, she has been working at headquarter level for INGOs focused on programme management, regional coordination and funding for development projects and humanitarian crises, working closely with country teams from Africa, Asia and the Middle East, including with ActionAid, Helpcode, Doctors with Africa Cuamm and Italian Cooperation (AICS).
Martina’s experience in the non-profit sector has been enriched through both campaigns (Amnesty International) and working in INGOs. Her previous roles include programme management, fundraising, donor engagement and compliance, with a particular focus on programme funding for development and humanitarian crises, working directly with local organisations. Martina is especially proud of the work she has done serving health programming for women and children affected by crisis and disaster.
Outside of work, Martina is an active Board member of grassroots associations, promoting women empowerment. She is learning shiatsu and loves trekking and hiking, which has led her to explore several countries in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Martina is an Italian-speaking citizen with working knowledge of English, Spanish and French.
