Jennifer Vaughan
Country Director, Jennifer Vaughan
Jennifer Vaughan has dedicated most of her professional career to development and human rights issues in Latin America and the Caribbean.
She joined Plan in 2006, having previously worked at other development agencies in Latin America and the Caribbean, inspired by Plan’s commitment to children’s rights.
With her academic background reflects her keen interest in development: an undergraduate degree in development studies, followed by a masters degree in rural resources and environmental policy at Wye College, University of London, Jennifer’s commitment to change stems from the courage and vision of the Latin American and Caribbean people she has met over the years who dream and work for a better life for them and their children.
Assigned to Plan Honduras in 2006, Jennifer has been struck by the intelligence and passion of its young people and by how Plan’s work on citizenship and participation is opening up possibilities for them to engage with local government and to promote and defend children’s rights. Now, she is country director in Bolivia, a few months ago.
