Minimum Standards for Child Protection now also in Polish
We translated the Minimum Standards for Child Protection into Polish. These standards, widely used by child protection organisations and humanitarian experts, have helped professionalise the sector.
Protecting children from violence, abuse, exploitation, and neglect is a top priority in humanitarian settings. While child protection specialists play a key role, all sectors must collaborate to prevent and address risks faced by children during crises. Humanitarian efforts should be timely, well-organized, and responsive to the needs of children and their families.
Actions must be guided by children’s rights, supported by evidence, and focused on measurable results. Strengthening formal and informal systems to safeguard children beyond emergency responses is equally important.
These principles underpin the Inter-Agency Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action. Since their launch in 2012, these standards have enhanced professionalism and effectiveness in child protection globally.
Plan International Poland contributed to the 2019 version of the Minimum Standards alongside other international organisations. We translated the standards into Polish to improve accessibility for Polish organisations.
