Education Cannot wait 2023 High Level Financing Conference
16-17 February 2023
Migrant and refugee children and their access to education and other rights: Plan International’s response to migration crises in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Plan International Latin America and The Caribbean will be present at the Education Cannot Wait (ECW) High Level Funding Conference (HLFC), which will take place from 16-17 February 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland.
At this event we are giving visibility to the impact of exile and human mobility on children and adolescents in the Americas region, with a focus on girls and adolescent women. Emergencies such as the Venezuelan and Northern Triangle migration crises have exacerbated gender inequality rates, increasing barriers to accessing the right to education and other rights.
Plan International recognises that the region is going through a crisis never before experienced in the history of Latin America, and affirms its commitment to the development of advocacy and the implementation of programmes to promote access to quality education in emergency contexts, with a focus on the rights of children, especially girls.
