Plan International Egypt's response to Sudan crisis newsletter front cover

Between April 2023, when conflict broke out in Sudan, and June, over 164,000 people fled to Egypt to seek safety.

Plan International Egypt launched an immediate humanitarian response in Aswan governorate alongside the Ministry of Social Solidarity, UN agencies and civil society organisations.

The majority of arrivals from Sudan are women and children who have carried few belongings and require immediate support for their basic needs such as food and shelter. So far, Plan International Egypt has supported 400 Sudanese families with cash transfers, dignity kits and hygiene kits so they can meet their basic needs.
