Plan International has been working in Tanzania since 1991 to promote and protect children’s rights.

Since then we have been supporting vulnerable children and their families to access health care, education, clean water, sanitation, protection and to make a good living.

Through our current country strategy, we are supporting adolescent girls to reach their full potential in a society that protects and respects their rights.

We operate in the regions of Dar es Salaam, Pwani, Morogoro, Mwanza, Kigoma, Geita, Mara, Dodoma, Rukwa, Lindi, and Mtwara.

Our key priorities are:

  • Keeping children safe, especially from harmful practices such as child marriage, female genital mutilation and child labour
  • Sexual and reproductive health rights
  • Equal access to quality and inclusive education
  • Water, sanitation and hygiene
  • Youth employment
  • Responding to emergencies.
