Plan Tanzania
Plan has been working in Tanzania since 1991, helping poor children to access their rights to health, education, sanitation, livelihoods and protection.
We operate in 6 areas across Tanzania and work with 30,000 sponsored children, their families and their communities.
Currently, we are focusing on community-led total sanitation (CLTS), which inspires communities to stop open-air defecation because of its negative impact on health. So far we have introduced CLTS in over 60 villages and many of them have declared themselves ‘open defecation free’.
