Haiti earthquake: 6 months on
July 2010: See the difference Plan's relief and recovery work has made to thousands of Haitian children since the devastating earthquake struck 6 months ago.
Narrated by Plan's Disaster Risk Management Director Roger Yates, the clip shows how Plan's response has evolved from providing emergency relief to building up programmes to protect children, get the education system started again, address health issues and support livelihoods so that parents can meet their family's needs.
So far Plan has:
- provided emergency support to 39,000 displaced people
- immunised more than 25,000 children and provided 112 mobile health clinics
- set up 150 temporary classrooms and is currently building another 144
- provided 'cash for work' to nearly 12,000 Haitians
- built and run 30 child-safe areas in camps.
But much more still needs to be done. Please help us to continue our vital work: make a donation to the Haiti appeal today.
