Key Practices in Responsible Recruitment Report | The Fostering Accountability in Recruitment for Fishery Workers (FAIR Fish) Project
More and more businesses are taking steps to tackle forced labour and human trafficking in the recruitment of workers to enhance social responsibility and sustainable development and to mitigate risks that can affect their own reputations.
This report compiles summaries and case studies of:
- The key practices in responsible recruitment adopted by the large companies such as Adidas, Ralph Lauren, Samsung Electric, HPE, Princes Group and Seafresh Industry, as well as civil society organisations
- Labour standards such as BSCI, SA8000, ILO General Principles and Operational Guidelines for Fair Recruitment
- Adoption of Key Practices by Seafood Processing SMEs in Thailand
The report aims to be good resources for SMEs to learn from those practices and consider applying some practices, in part or whole, where feasible, to their businesses. It also informs the development of a responsible recruitment model for seafood processing SMEs, which is currently being piloted by the Fostering Accountability in Recruitment for Fishery Workers (FAIR Fish) project of Plan International.
