Disclosure and access to information for programmes funded by the African Development Bank
As per the African Development Bank Group’s Policy on Disclosure and Access to Information, the Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), the Stakeholder Engagement Plans (SEPs), and the Grievance Redress Mechanisms (GRMs) for Plan International’s “Climate Proof Water 4 Food” programme in South Sudan and Ethiopia (2026-2028), funded by the African Development Bank under the Climate Action Window, are disclosed on this website as of 2 October 2025.
The W4F Project aims to enhance food security, improve livelihoods, and strengthen climate resilience through sustainable water management, small scale irrigation, and climate-smart agriculture. Implemented across 2 counties (Rubkona and Mayom) in Unity State. The project will provide reliable and climate-resilient water supply for domestic use and small-scale irrigation, while integrating biodiversity protection, gender equity, and inclusive community participation.
The ESIA outlines potential environmental and social impacts of the project and proposes mitigation and management measures to ensure sustainable implementation. It aligns with both South Sudan’s environmental and social Frameworks and the African Development Bank’s Integrated Safeguards System, ensuring compliance with international best practice.
