Diatou, an out-of-school girl takes a seat in the classroom
Diatou, 11, is entering the classroom for the first time. In the future she wants to be a doctor and create a better future for her family.
Since 1976, Plan International Mali has been working with communities, strategic partners and youth lead organisations to raise awareness about the importance of children’s rights.
We work together with children, young people, supporters and partners to strive for a just world, where we are all equal. To do that we tackle the root causes of the challenges and inequalities that children and young girls face.
At present, our work focuses on vulnerable and excluded children, especially girls, in more than 1,000 communities.
We place emphasis on supporting young people as true agents of change and consider their specific partnership needs.
We also act as a facilitator to initiate community dialogues about the role of young people as active citizens and abandoning harmful practices.
We won’t stop until we are all equal.
Our keys priorities:
The world is in the grip of the most devastating hunger crisis ever seen.
