2025 Annual Review, Latin America and the Caribbean

This report is a summary of our work in Latin America and the Caribbean with children, especially girls.

In 2025, girls and adolescents in Latin America and the Caribbean continued to demonstrate that, when given the right support, they become powerful agents of change. Their voices reached global decision-making forums such as the World Summit on Social Development in Doha and the OAS General Assembly, marking historic milestones in youth participation.

At Plan International, we continue to work alongside them to break down the barriers that limit their opportunities: poverty, gender-based violence, lack of access to quality education, and exclusion from spaces where decisions that affect their lives are made. This year has been significantly challenging, but each achievement drives us to continue until we achieve equality.

We invite you to learn how, together with girls, adolescents, and their communities, we are transforming realities and building a future where every girl can grow up free, safe, and with every opportunity to achieve her dreams.

“When a girl participates, her voice redefines priorities, influences policies, and humanizes decisions. By participating fully and leading, they are not only claiming their place, they are building a different, fairer, and more humane world.”

Damaris, 23, El Salvador
