Mexico City, August 28, 2024
The Regional Advisory Council is Plan International’s new strategic commitment to strengthen support and fundraising aimed at empowering the opportunities and rights of girls and adolescents.
Mexico City brought together leading figures from the Latin American business world who officially assumed the commitment to work hard to promote the rights of children, especially girls, by being appointed members of the Regional Advisory Council, an initiative created by Plan International, which has a presence in more than 80 countries and carries out development and humanitarian projects.
Two years ago, Plan International began operating in Mexico to promote different actions aimed at the prevention of migration, psychosocial care and to promote the rights of girls, boys and women in contexts of mobility, providing humanitarian assistance to more than 2,500 people.
The reason for bringing the businessmen and women together in Mexico City was because they visited Ciudad Juarez to learn how the projects that provide assistance in the shelters work and also to identify new opportunities to support these populations, as well as other initiatives of the organisation.
