Plan Laos

Plan has been working in Laos since 2007, supporting over 300 communities and reaching thousands of children.

Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) is ranked 138 out of 187 countries in the 2013 Human Development Index and is one of the poorest countries in South East Asia.

In the communities that we work with, there are difficulties accessing adequate healthcare, sanitation and basic education. The communities are impoverished, which can leave them vulnerable.

Plan’s goal is to enable the realisation of rights of marginalised children, especially girls, in Laos through participation, partnerships, advocacy and high quality programming.

Plan partners with local civil society to address the structural causes and consequences of poverty and to enable meaningful change.
