Plan Brazil
Plan has been working in Brazil since 1997, mainly in the states of Pernambuco and Maranhão.
More than 75,000 children and adolescents participate in about 50 Plan projects focused on ensuring that children access their right to education, health, participation and food and nutrition security.
Where we work in Brazil
Our work is focused in the Northeast - the neediest region of the country - where the child mortality rate is 50% higher than the national average, income almost 40% lower and illiteracy rates more than twice as high.
Plan runs programmes in approximately 150 communities in Pernambuco and Maranhão.
