Position: Resilience Officer (Safe School)
Assignment Duration: From start date to till 31st June 2018

Job background: This project is as part of the Child-Centred DRR in Coastal Areas implementing with the local partner and aims to make schools a safer place and children to access to safe school environment through retrofitting the identified schools which are in risks.
There will also be climate change adaptation activities in schools and community. Plan International Myanmar seeks the services of a suitably qualified Resilience officer, who will support the partner organization in making school safe and related activities of School Safety and Child-Centred DRR (CCDRR) measures in the project. Responsibilities: Provide technical oversight in the construction/retrofitting activities of Plan International Myanmar. Provide Technical Support for the Safe School Approach to ECCD, KAP survey and SBDRR process in the field. Check the quality and quantity of construction materials delivered in the field. Provide regular reports to Engineer and PUM before, during and after the constructions on information related to the design, progress and quality. Build capacity of partners and community as required on basic construction guidelines and safe school guidelines. Build the capacity of the partners as required through coaching, trainings and providing constructive feedbacks. Regularly monitor the implementation progress of the project and activities by the partners against set indicators. Support Good Communication and Coordination among the partners through regular meetings, coordination events. Facilitate local level awareness raising campaigns on specific issues in targeted area. Liaison with the local authorities and concerned Government departments regarding project issues. Conduct collection, processing and analysis of technical data from the field and follow up on inconsistencies.
Entry Qualifications, Skills & Experience: Minimum 3 years of demonstrated professional experience in disaster management, emergency response or development field • Academic degree in relevant area • Track record in participation, technical training, facilitation and awareness raising activities • Experience in working with children and communities • knowledge of DRR principles, concepts and techniques • Knowledge of school based DRR and/or knowledge of participatory media development processes • Ability to communicate in English is an advantage • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment • Strong team-player and good facilitation skills • Excellent communication skills • Proficient in computer skills
