Plan International's aim is to support vulnerable communities, driven by women and children, to become more resilient in the face of climate extremes and disasters. Plan International is seeking one Resilience Officer (BRACED- Building Resilience and Adaptation to Climate Extremes and Disasters) as part of this project at Kyukphyu Township, Rakhine State.
Position: 1 Resilience Officer ( BRACED) in Kyukphyu
Assignment Duration: From start date to till 31st December 2017

Plan International is implementing its BRACED project using a Child Centred Community Development Approach with local partners in Rakhine State. The project will implement a resilience model at the community level, scaling-up existing community resources and expertise through a range of programme interventions addressing community based disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.
The PU Resilience Officer will provide technical support to implementing partners and also assist in planning, budgeting, monitoring, evaluating and coordination.
Support the design and planning of BRACED activities, including community-based Resilience mechanisms for children, and provide technical support to partner staff in implementation of planned resilience activities.
Support the project manager in fulfilling technical and financial reporting requirements of the proposed project .
Build the capacity of the partners as required through coaching, trainings and providing constructive feedbacks.
Regularly monitor the implementation progress of the project and activities by the partners against set indicators.
Support Good Communication and Coordination among the partners through regular meetings, coordination events. Facilitate local level awareness raising campaigns on specific issues in targeted area.
Liaison with the local authorities and concerned Government departments regarding project issues.
Conduct collection, processing and analysis of technical data from the field and follow up on inconsistencies.
Entry Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Minimum 3 years of demonstrated professional experience in disaster management, emergency response or development field • Academic degree in relevant area • Track record in participation, technical training, facilitation and awareness raising activities • Experience in working with children and communities • knowledge of DRR principles, concepts and techniques • Ability to communicate in English is an advantage • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment • Strong team-player and good facilitation skills • Excellent communication skills • Proficient in computer skills
