The Girls' Rights Gazette has been produced by Plan International EU office for the second time to celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child on 11 October 2013
From 11 to 18 October 2013, Plan International EU office organized the European Week of Action for Girls. Throughout the week various events and activities, focusing on girls’ rights, have been organised to celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child on 11 October 2013.
In that context we produced the Girls’ Rights Gazette which aims at gathering the views of European and International experts on the most pressing challenges faced by girls worldwide.
Girls' Rights Gazette 2013
The Girls' Rights Gazette was produced by Plan International EU office to celebrate the International day of the Girl Child on 11 October 2013.
The Girls’ Rights Gazette 2013 uncovers the challenges girls, in particular adolescent girls, face in realising their rights, and propose solutions to overcome these barriers.
In line with the objectives of the week, articles cover a number of issues including EU commitments to gender and the place of girls in the post-2015 framework. It also raises awareness of the discrimination girls face in their daily lives and what’s being done to tackle this.
