Disaster Risk Management, Conflict and Climate Change in the Monitoring of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
Children’s vulnerability to disasters is expected to increase in the coming years as the frequency and intensity of disasters caused by natural hazards rises. Greater recognition is needed of the impact of these issues on the realisation of children’s rights.
This study examines to what extent the impacts of climate change and disasters on children’s rights were reported to the Committee on the Rights of the Child. Additionally, it looks at what relevant government recommendations were proposed by the Committee.
