Plan International's aim is for vulnerable communities, driven by women and children, to become more resilient in the face of climate extremes and disasters realizing sustainable development gains. Plan International is seeking one Resilience Officer (BRACED- Building Resilience and Adaptation to Climate Extremes and Disasters) as part of this project at Kyukphyu & Taungup Township, Rakhine State.
Position: 1 Resilience Manager ( BRACED)
Assignment Duration: From start date to till December 2017

Job Purpose: Plan International Myanmar is implementing its BRACED project using a Child Center
Community Development Approach with local partners in Rakhine State. The project will implement
a resilience model at the community level, scaling-up existing community resources and expertise
through a range of programme interventions addressing community based disaster risk reduction
and climate change adaptation.
The PU Resilience Manager will ssupport to PUM and Resilience Specialist in the ongoing analysis of resilience trends in Kyauk Phyu and Taungup based on efficient and proactive networking with partners, authorities and other relevant stakeholder.Develop detailed implementation schedule at the field level together with Resilience Specialists, PU Manager and partners. Manage annual budgets for Plan and partner, and
maintain oversight of both budgets. Regularly monitor the implementation of the project and
activities by the partners With the PUM, lead in liaison with the local authorities and concerned
Government departments regarding project activities and advocacy work. Provide technical and
management support to Plan staffs and partners. Build the capacity of the partners as required, in
his/her area of expertise to be able to deliver agreed results .Facilitate local level awareness raising
campaigns on specific issues in targeted area.
Entry Qualifications, Skills & Experience: Minimum 5 years of demonstrated professional experience
in disaster management, emergency response or development field • Academic degree in relevant
area • Track record in participation, technical training, facilitation and awareness raising activities •
Experience in working with children and communities • knowledge of DRR principles, concepts and
techniques • Ability to communicate in English is an advantage • Ability to work in a
multidisciplinary and multicultural environment • Strong team-player and good facilitation skills •
Excellent communication skills • Proficient in computer skills.
