Program Unit Health Project Manager

Plan International Myanmar is an international humanitarian, child-centred development organization, implementing programmes that promote the realization and fulfillment of children’s rights and the alleviation of child poverty. Plan Myanmar is seeking a Program Unit Health Project Manager post. The position is based in Taungup Township, Rakhine State and will require travel to the communities.

Assignment type: From start date to till December 31, 2017.
Reports to: Taungup Program Unit Manager
Based in: Taungup Program Unit, Plan International Myanmar
Number of position required: 1 position

Job Purpose:
The projects will be implemented through local partner with the PU Health Manager overseeing and supporting the MNCH and Nutrition (MNCHN) & WASH project(s) with the help of WASH Field Officer. Key aspects of the role include partnership management, planning, M&E and representation and liaison at the local level. This position is based full-time in the field with extensive field travel. The post holder will be working closely with implementing partners to ensure smooth implementation of partner managed projects and budget management responsibility. The post holder will inform the Program Unit Manager of any potential internal and external risks that may compromise the quality of programmes and help mitigate them.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
 Bachelor of medicine, midwifery or nursing
 Masters degree in public health or other field preferred
 Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in the Health and Nutrition sector
 Understanding of development issues in the Health and Nutrition sector, relevant policies and frameworks
 Understanding of community development
 Strong knowledge in planning, monitoring, evaluating programs
 Understanding of participatory methodologies
 Understanding of local civil society development
 Understanding of integrated development issues and critical analysis of child poverty
