PERU: "It is time to reduce the gap between the rights of boys and girls"

Plan International participated in the ExpoManagement Sustainability 2016 within the topic of gender, informing on its labours in Peru and the campaign "Because I Am A girl".

Students, professionals and businessmen and women gathered this past Thursday to participate in the ExpoManagement Sustainability 2016, the most important social responsibility and sustainability fair in Peru. This year, within the theme of gender, Plan International presented the campaign Por ser Niña or Because I Am a Girl, they also invited those assisting to know more about their work in Cusco, Piura and Lima.

Visitors received informational material and became aware of the importance of guaranteeing the right of girls in Peru as an efficient way to reduce poverty. Women, in particular, identified themselves with the message Plan International conveyed in pro of the construction of a more egalitarian society in terms of gender.

One attendee affirmed that "It is time to reduce the gap between the rights of boys and girls, and we should highlight the fact that Plan International has made a priority of this topic, because we need many voices in favour of women throughout the country."
