What is the purpose of the “Real Friend” Campaign?
The aim of the national campaign is raising awareness against violence towards children and promoting the rights of children and adolescents.
Furthermore, children violated in their rights or adults who know about cases of violence against children should notify through the 147 Helpline.
The “Real Friend” Campaign. What does it mean to be Real childhood Friend?
It means that the person or institution assumes the following commitments:
To RESPECT and PROMOTE the rights of children and adolescences
To ACT not remain indifferent to violence against children.
To INFORM where to turn in case of violence against girls, boys.
To PROTECT Children in situation of vulnerability

SEXUAL VIOLENCE OR EXPLOITATION
VERBAL OR PSYCHOLOGICAL VIOLENCE
This Campaing is part of the project "Institutional Strengthening Project of the National System of Integral Protection and Promotion of Children and Adolescents for prevention and care in situations of violence" that is implemented by Plan International and the National Secretary for Children and Adolescents with Itaipu Binacional support. This activity also has the support of the Secretary of Information and Communication of the goverment (SICOM)
According to the survey on violence against children 2010 (Beca and Unicef) 35% of the children in Paraguay reported receiving serious physical abuse
This Project will last two years and is implemented in 11 departments and 28 cities across the country. The main objectives are: the effectiveness of the 147 helpline of the National Secretary of Children and Adolescents for child violence and case referral, the training of the government civil servants that are part of the National Protection System, the implementation of a national awareness campaign and promotion of the rights of children.
