Mayra rocked the MTV Disruptive

The MTV Disruptive Fest was held as part as the Entrepreneur Week in Mexico and Mayra Coc, from Guatemala, was among the spokesperson invited to share her experience in front of thousands who want to start new challenges.

Attired with her indigenous community clothes, the 19 year old girl took the cardboard stage and talked to young people with a lot of energy to share with them tips to reach their goals in life. Mayra began speaking about who she is and how she became part of a volunteering system since she was young in order to create awareness among people and to participate through initiatives to transform the existing law in her country so they are aligned with children rights and that really guarantee a healthy development.

“If you have a goal, make it a part of your life until you reach it”, said Mayra at the beginning of her speech.

The young woman shared her enthusiasm when the law that raises the marriage age to 18 years old was established. But Mayra is not only an activist and one of her sides as an entrepreneur was part of her speech. ‘I see fail as a strength’, Mayra said to the crowd.

Mayra encouraged Young people in the event to believe in themselves so the impossible could become possible: ‘When I was 16 I was named a spokesperson for the Because I am Girl movement and I’ve realised how goals can be achieved’. The young woman, years ago, arrived to London to be part of different forums with ambassadors, ministers and other activists.

To end her conference and allowed the following speakers, Mayra pointed out some advices so they could motivate to start their own projects and move forward despite de different paths.

The event will be broadcast in different part through MTV Latin America and this would help to spread even more the empowerment message shared by the Guatemalan girl.
