Plan International Nicaragua, in coordination with the government authorities of the municipality of Teustepe in the Department of Boaco, delivered humanitarian aid to families affected by the heavy rains generated by the drops in pressure and the Selma storm.

As a humanitarian organization, we are concerned for the vulnerability of families in the northeast of the country, so we delivered 300 sanitation kits to help 150 families. We will continue conducting additional assessments of the situation and especially its impact on children, so as to identify the most urgent needs and how we can provide additional support, said Matthew Carlson, country director.

The hygiene kits contained water, mattresses, blankets, antibacterial gel, laundry soap, bath soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, portable water containers, sanitary pads for women, toilet paper, insect repellent and boxes of matches.
