The Emergency Response Manager (ERM) will lead and manage the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and associated emergency programs and be the interface between the ERT and the Country Director. He/She will be responsible for the quality and effectiveness of Plan’s emergency response. He/she will be responsible and accountable for developing, coordinating and managing all emergency activities and overall responsibility for the security and well-being of ERT staff. The ERM will be expected to provide strategic leadership in all areas of emergency programming, ensuring the development and delivery of an emergency response plan including: Program plan, Funding plan, Communication plan, Capacity and capability plan. He/She will be a member of Country Management Team and will be expected to actively contribute to the overall governance of the country office, the country strategy, and annual plans.
Should have relevant degree with DRM and Emergency Response Management professional qualifications, 5 years practical experience in delivering Emergency Response, should have knowledge in project design, planning, proposal writing and project reporting, have excellent analytical, problem solving and strategic planning skills, should have excellent leadership and team work skills, communications skills, Have experience in fieldwork with resilience/adaptability and flexibility.
Location: The post holder will be based in the Regional Office in Nairobi, Kenya
