Humanitarian Project Officer – Resilience (integrated Child Protection in Emergencies / Disaster Risk Reduction)

Job purpose:
Plan International is launching an integrated Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) / Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Project in communities in Minbya Township. Plan International Myanmar is seeking qualified Humanitarian Project Officers to ensure the adequate implementation of project activities.

The Humanitarian Project Officer Resilience (with a focus on CPiE and DRR) will be responsible for the quality implementation of activities which strengthen the resilience of children and communities in Minbya Township with a focus on strengthening the protective environment for children and the coping capacities of communities to different forms of disasters.

The Humanitarian Project Officer Resilience will focus on planning, implementation and monitoring of project activities as well as creating and maintaining positive relationships with different stakeholders at community, township and state-levels. The Humanitarian Project Officer Resilience will report to the Humanitarian Project Manager and work in collaboration with other Humanitarian Project Officers and with support from technical specialist (CPiE & DRR). This is a full time position based in Sittwe with approximately 50% of the time spent in the field.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
 Proven experience working in planning, implementing, monitoring of humanitarian projects in communities with experience in either Child Protection in Emergencies or Disaster Risk Reduction; experience in both areas is an advantage
 Understanding of the Rakhine context and understanding of protection issues of children and of disaster risks faced by populations in Rakhine state
 Familiarity with and experience in applying with international humanitarian standards and principles – CPMS & SPHERE
 Strong experience and knowledge of the Do No Harm and conflict sensitivity approaches
 Capacity to facilitate trainings and workshops for communities and other stakeholders
 Experience in working and collaborating with different stakeholders
 Willingness to travel to remote areas and spend time in the field
 Ability to work under pressure, as part of a team or independently, and meet deadlines
 Strong team-building and facilitation skills
 Good command of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point)
 Citizen of Myanmar only
