Humanitarian Project Officer - Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE)

Plan International is an international humanitarian, child-centered development organization, implementing programmes that promote the realization and fulfillment of children’s rights and the alleviation of child poverty.

Job purpose:
Plan International Myanmar is seeking a CPiE Project Officer to support the implementation of project activities in Minbya Township. The CPiE Officer will be responsible for supporting the quality implementation of CPiE activities to provide a protective environment for targeted children in selected villages in Minbya Township. The CPiE Officer will focus on planning, implementation and monitoring of CPiE activities in collaboration and support from team members whilst conducting basic trainings to community mobilisers and caregivers in target villages. This is a full-time position based in Sittwe with approximately 50% of the time spent in the field.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
 Two to Three years of experience working in planning, implementing, monitoring of child protection in emergencies projects and preferably in working in community-based projects
 Understanding of the Rakhine Emergency context and understanding of protection issues of children affected by ethnic violence and floods in Rakhine State
 Knowledge of different forms of child abuse and familiarity with international humanitarian standards and principals, including Child Protection Minimum Standards for Humanitarian Action
 Capacity to facilitate trainings and workshops for children and communities
 Experience in working and collaborating with different stakeholders
 Willingness to travel to the field frequently
 Ability to work under pressure, as part of a team or independently, and meet deadlines
 Strong team building, training, monitoring and facilitation skills
 Computer literate and good command of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
 Good English and Rakhine Language
 Citizen of Myanmar only
