Humanitarian Project Manager – Resilience (integrated Child Protection in Emergencies / Disaster Risk Reduction)

Dimensions of Role:
Plan International is launching an integrated Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) / Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Project in communities in Minbya Township. Plan International Myanmar is seeking a qualified Humanitarian Project Manager to manage the adequate implementation of all project activities.

The Humanitarian Project Manager - Resilience (with a focus on CPiE and DRR) will be responsible for the overall management of the integrated CPiE / DRR project including the quality implementation of activities which strengthen the resilience of children and communities in Minbya Township with a focus on strengthening the protective environment for children and the coping capacities of communities to different forms of disasters. This position manages about 4 staff and ensures project activities are implemented as per plan. This position plays an important role as a Plan International's representative at the Township level.

The humanitarian project manager leads Plan International's resilience programme with integrated child protection / disaster risk reduction activities in Minbya Township and oversees the management of project related humanitarian grants of Plan International. The post holder has to represent Plan International in all relevant forums and ensure adequate levels of coordination at community, township, level and State level (if necessary) and performs as a focal person for coordination with relevant government departments. The project manager actively participates in establishing a secure funding base, including participating in the preparation of proposals.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
 Citizen of Myanmar
 Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in humanitarian response with proven experience working on project funded by international institutional grants
 Technical skills and experience in managing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating humanitarian projects with a focus on disaster risk reduction and/or child protection in emergencies
 Understanding of humanitarian context in Rakhine with particular interest in the area of protection of vulnerable children in Rakhine State
 Demonstrated ability to provide staff capacity building
 Strong team building and facilitation skill
 Good knowledge and understanding of Do No Harm principles
 Excellent English communications skills
 Ability to work independently and as a team player. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
 Understanding of Children rights and gender equality
 Willingness to travel to remote areas and spend time in the field
