Humanitarian Project Assistant Non-Formal Education

Plan International Myanmar is an international humanitarian, child-centred development organization, implementing programs that promote the realization and fulfilment of children’s rights and the alleviation of child poverty.

Plan International Myanmar is planning to expand its work to include an emergency response in Rakhine State and is seeking Humanitarian Project Assistant as part of this project. These positions are contingent upon a successful grant award. The positions are based in Mrauk U, Rakhine State and will require travel to IDP camps and adjacent communities.

Reports to: Field Officer (NFE)
Assignment Duration: 6 months

The Job purpose:
The Project Assistant will work closely with the Field Officer in the implementation of Non Formal Education activities as well as monitoring and reporting in Rakhine. The Project Assistant will work with communities and closely support youth facilitator from Youth center and management committee. She/he will assist the Field Officer to organize training for youth facilitator and management committee, undertake regular monitoring visits to all youth center in different villages, monitoring visit and support to youth facilitators and management committee for their community base project and arrange for timely delivery of materials. At all times he/she will coordinate and collaborate with the team. This position will be based in Mrauk U with frequent travel to Minbya.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
 Minimum two years of proven experience working Non Formal Education/Education projects or other related field experience.
 Strong experience in child protection policies and practices in Myanmar
 Experience using monitoring and evaluation
 Strong experience and knowledge of Do No Harm and conflict sensitivity approaches
 Demonstrated understanding of the humanitarian emergency operating context including Sphere, the humanitarian system, security and field level project management
 Academic degree in education, social science, development studies or other relevant area
 Proven ability to supervise a child protection project with holistic and integrated approach.
 Strong team-building and facilitation skills
