Plan International Guatemala has years of expertise in ensuring that teenagers have access to skills they can use to improve their own lives.
Our groundbreaking Skills For Life programme targets adolescents, including those from indigenous communities, between 13 and 18 years of age.
We prioritise factors that influence the lives of adolescents such as physical and mental health, sexual and reproductive rights, HIV and AIDS prevention, prevention of violence and sexual abuse, school completion and professional training and participation.
Efforts are made through every activity to strengthen the organisation and leadership of adolescents, so that they are capable of promoting human rights in their communities and collaborating with local authorities.
Teenagers are also provided with training and other resources so they can learn how to participate in making decisions at different levels within the family and community.
